Commercial Mixing Tools Horizontal Mixers

Jun 15

Mixing tools are the backbone of commercial baking. Invest in durable and versatile mixers for your kitchens, like General’s GEM130 freestanding model that comes with a flat beater, spiral dough hook and wire whip.

This planetary mixer minimizes heat input in yeasted doughs and saves operators from transferring products between bowls, cutting down on cleanup time. White Mountain Process can also equip you with quality Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC) totes for your mixing needs.

Tote Mixers

Tote Mixers offer heavy-duty mixing power that's lightweight for Easy Mixing operation by a single person. They eliminate product cross-contamination by mixing and agitating separate tote contents without switching containers. The tote mixer's drive and agitator segments are both removable, so you can easily swap in a new mixer for different applications.

IBC tote agitators are air- or electric-powered with single- or double mixing shafts, open or closed helix design impellers & direct or gear reduced drives. They're used for blending, stirring, kneading and dispersing high-viscosity materials. Some models are sanitary clamp mount for use in food, bio-pharm, beverage, cosmetic, pure water & beer/wine industries.

USABlueBook IBC tote mixers feature collapsible blades that fold to fit through the IBC's 6" opening and then unfold to distribute materials throughout the container evenly. They're 316 stainless steel for chemical compatibility and use compressed air or gas (not included) to operate. These tote agitators are ideal for IBC container re-agitation, low or high-viscosity batch mixing and subtle or aggressive agitation.

Stirred-Tank Mixers

Tank mixers are used in a variety of industrial applications to help workers mix ingredients for products like detergents, foods and beverages, and paper. Many states and countries have occupational health and safety agencies that enforce workplace standards, including those related to the use of tank mixers.

Some mixing processes involve high-speed shear that can damage or degrade the contents of a container. To prevent this, the tank mixer must be designed to handle a specific level of shear. Tank mixers that are sensitive to shear can be modified to reduce the amount of shear they generate by using a different type of mixing impeller or design.

It is also important to regularly check and clean a tank mixer to ensure it is operating properly. This can help detect any signs of wear or tear that could lead to the tank mixer failing prematurely. Regular inspections should also include calibrating any sensors or monitors that are used with the tank mixer, as well as lubricating all moving parts to prevent premature failure.

Vertical Mixers

Vertical mixers have a shaft and paddles attached to a motor. They can have a jacket to heat or cool while mixing.

They have short mixing times and low power consumption. They're also very versatile. Bakers can tinker with the process and use different scraping devices, change resting times or employ a sponge-and-dough approach.

KUHN Knight Vertical Maxx mixers have the versatility to handle a wide range of feedstuffs, including round bales, square and round haylage, concentrates, small grains and forages. Improved feed movement provides a complete, consistent mix for a high-quality ration to put in front of livestock.

This producer would benefit from the VS350 single-screw vertical mixer with a high screw rpm to help with cleanout of dense feedlot rations. It has a loading height limit of 106 in (269 cm) and requires a tractor with adequate horsepower. The mixing time is about three minutes. The mixer has a bowl capacity of 270 cubic feet.

Horizontal mixers come in a wide variety of sizes and can be customized with heating and drying functions. They are also available with a variety of blade styles, such as the pear element which can gently mix your materials, or the helix ribbon which mixes more quickly and thoroughly. NICETY Machinery's sales staff can help you choose the best horizontal mixer for your needs.

The double shaft mixer's cross mixing actions allow it to properly mix smaller batches that only fill a portion of the total mixer volume. These include ointments, ceramic powders, stone paints and metal powders, abrasive chemicals such as cleaning compounds, plaster mixtures, rubber solutions and adhesives, lime and cement, and PVC pastes.

For high viscosity liquids, high shear mixing is necessary to achieve good results. These mixing tools are designed to mix thick liquids, which have more resistance to agitation than thinner liquids. These mixers can combine a variety of substances together to form a uniform batch.
